Weekend Review: 85th annual Natchitoches City of Lights Christmas Festival

NSU's theater department throws candy to on looking spectators during festival parade


This past weekend, the city of Natchitoches welcomed over thousands of people, local and non local, to the 85th  Natchitoches City of Lights Christmas Festival. The day long celebration included live music, arts, crafts and food vendors. Also, two parades and a fireworks and laser show closed the day.

The honor of Grand Marshall of festivities was given to Retired Lt. General Russell Honore’. The festival is the prelude to an ongoing series and events for Natchitoches for the remainder of the holiday season. The fireworks show will be held every weekend until January 6th, 2012.
